On June 26, the UF Creative Garage will be held in the UF FabLab prototyping laboratory of the Ukrainian Future business incubator of the National Center "Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine" - a workshop-battle for young people aged 14 and older, offering a blitz path of a startuper in a few hours: from an idea to independent prototype production.
UF Creative Garage is an opportunity to try yourself as an innovator, work in a team, meet young founders of successful startups and create your first product using 3D modeling and 3D printing technologies.
What awaits participants?
1. Introduction to the basics of design thinking. Participants will try the approach that startups use to create new products, learn to define a problem, generate ideas and look for non-standard approaches to solving problems.
2. Journey to the world of materials. In the UF Material Library, participants will see hundreds of modern materials from around the world and learn how the choice of material affects the functionality, appearance and capabilities of the future product.
3. Meeting with CEOs of successful startups. Yaroslava Polikarpova (WITERoK) and Bohdan Khytryk (VERBA) founded their projects while still in school and, having become UF residents, raised tens of thousands of dollars for their development. Bohdana and Yaroslav will become mentors for the teams.
4. Working in teams on their own idea. Participants will join teams, receive a challenge and work on creating their own solution using design thinking tools and support from mentors.
5. Getting to know the UF FabLab. Teams will visit the prototyping laboratory, see the equipment used by engineers and designers, and learn how the first versions of future innovative products are created.
6. Creating their own prototype. Together with their mentors, participants will develop a basic 3D model and prepare it for printing. After that, they will be able to see how their idea is transformed into a real physical object using a 3D printer.
7. Prototype Battle. The final stage will be the presentation of the created solutions. Teams will have 5 minutes to present their prototype and convince the audience of its value.
8. Awarding of participants. At the end of the event, participants will receive awards and gifts for participation, creativity and teamwork.
