The Kray Technologies startup became the winner of the regional stage of the Startup World Cup. The team has the opportunity to go to the Grand Final of the competition in Silicon Valley and compete for the grand prize of $ 1,000,000.
The national final took place on December 22 at the KICC Parkovyi. 12 Ukrainian teams from different domains – MedTech, AI, IoT, engineering solutions, etc. – fought for the right to represent Ukraine at the Startup World Cup for the first time officially. Among them, the jury members chose Kray.
Kray Technologies are automatic drones for the plant protection products and fertilizers application with industrial productivity of up to 470 hectares per day. According to the developers, the use of their technology reduces the cost of cultivation by 90% (up to $ 2 / ha in the US market) and promises the farmer a 20-40% increase in yield.
The Kray team will have 11 months to prepare for the Grand Final of the Startup World Cup in Silicon Valley (USA), where startups from more than 50 countries will compete for the main prize of $1,000,000. The global pitch competition had to take place on May 19-21, 2021, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the final was postponed to November 2021. As organizers of the Startup World Cup – representatives of the international venture company Pegasus Tech Ventures (USA) – explained, this decision was made for safety reasons.
